Hospitality / Number 15

Kentucky influenced entertainment venue on Whiskey Row.

Historic Preservation

Number 15 was a historic tax credit project. Documentation of the project’s compliance with historic reviewer comments was essential to achieve the owner’s goal.

Furniture

Number 15 was designed to be a different theme on each level. Sports Bar ground level, Whiskey Row first level, Kentucky Derby second level, Black/White third level, and Rockstar Lair fourth level. The furniture package was a balance of respecting each theme and also making some of the pieces versatile enough to move to different level in case of a switch up for an event or different use.

Description:

A historic building on Whiskey Row in Louisville, KY finally got the repair and care it needed. All 6 stories of this building tell the Whiskey Row story a different way.

The basement remain relatively untouched in preparation for a future speakeasy.

The ground level is the sport center area named “Last Call”. This level opens up on the backside of the building at the alley grade level. The entrance is adjacent to the KFC Sports arena so the design is geared towards the pre and post game crowd.

The first level is accessible from the front of the building at street grade. This the main check-in area and housed the live music stage. The earthy whiskey theme is most apparent on this level.

The second level is “For the Girls”. This level ties in the derby and preppy side of Kentucky. Several floral arrangements soften the space. A bold pink and patterned patio overlooks the street below.

The third level an event space. Half the space is white and soft pink. The other half is dark with accent of olive green. The contrasting sides have cohesive elements throughout making the space useable by one party or two.

The fourth level is an AirBnB in collaboration with Blade and Bow Distillery. This space is a “Rockstar Lair” feeling. The green room serves a dual purpose as the third bedroom when not in use by talent.
